By being of extreme <strong>caloric wealth<\/strong>, the Greeks and Romans already used to preserve it. It was, then, a usual presence across the most exquisite events and <a href=\"https:\/\/costa-verde.celsoalmeida.pt\/en\/porcelain-highlight-life-meal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">meals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the Middle Age, the Clergy included this fruit in their <strong>diet<\/strong>, which sometimes he grinded and treated like flour. Also, during Renaissance, in Europe in particular, the chestnut played an important role, by having finally arrived to <strong>Portugal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Because <strong>autumn<\/strong> is a synonym for fresh weather, small days and the first rains, we remember that <strong>gastronomy<\/strong> also follows climate change. Therefore, in this article, we look at a typically autumnal snack: <strong>roasted chestnuts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>How to prepare roasted chestnuts?<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>chestnut <\/strong>is much requested gastronomically, by being known its use in <strong>roasts in the oven <\/strong>and in <strong>soups<\/strong>. Once reduced to flour, it can also be used in <strong>pies<\/strong> and in countless other <a href=\"https:\/\/costa-verde.celsoalmeida.pt\/en\/porcelain-practical-meals-suggestions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recipes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There are plenty possibilities. Still, because it is autumn, we suggest you to prepare it, in the most primitive, natural and probably tasty way. That is, simply <strong>roasted over fire or flame<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Learn about the 7 steps, in order to prepare and taste delicious roasted nuts:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Begin by cutting the nuts crosswise. The <strong>cut<\/strong> should be only 3 millimetres deep;<\/li>\n<li>Dampen them and season them with <strong>coarse salt<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Use a <strong>punched container<\/strong> and place them directly over the fire;<\/li>\n<li>Let the flames work and make magic happen;<\/li>\n<li>During the <strong>roasting process<\/strong>, the inner and outer skins of the nuts separate from the pulp. At that time, remove them from the fire and peel them with your hand;<\/li>\n<li>Arrange them on a porcelain casserole, pan or dish.
